East Haddam Youth and Family Services along with The Local Prevention Council is celebrating Red Ribbon Week October 23rd-31st. Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation. The Red Ribbon has now become a national symbol for the drug free movement, and is used to encourage individuals and communities to take a stand against drugs. Red Ribbon activities have been planned in all East Haddam Schools. Please join EHYFS and The Local Prevention Council on Tuesday, October 11th at the Senior Center from 4:30pm-6:00pm when Nancy Mackinnon from Ballek’s Garden Center leads a Red Ribbon Workshop. Participants will learn how to make large, gorgeous bows. The Red Ribbons/bows made during the workshop will be used to decorate the town buildings and businesses for Red Ribbon Week. Each participant will leave with a new craft skill, a bow to decorate their home for Red Ribbon Week, and a sense of just how wonderful our community is! Let’s work together to get our red on, East Haddam! If you would like to participate or need more information, please contact EHYFS at (860) 873-3296.
