East Haddam Youth and Family Services (EHYFS) has recently launched a five-year strategic plan and is seeking new members to serve on the Board of Directors and/or volunteer on one or more committees. The Board is expanding and organizing several working committees. These changes will better serve the needs of youth, families, and taxpayers. Interested applicants should have at least one of the following skills: creating, managing or working on philanthropic campaigns; grant writing; financial management; legal advisement; insurance expertise; and, effective interpersonal and written communication skills with a diverse network of individuals including government officials, donors, and volunteers from several town organizations and affiliations.
Board members must be willing to volunteer an average of 8-10 hours per month to support the various goals and initiatives outlined in the strategic plan. Activities include monthly board and committee meetings and independent/group work and networking activities. Board membership terms are for two years, and appointment is by the Board of Directors. Volunteer opportunities will be available as needed and may be monthly, seasonal, or by event.
If you are seeking a local volunteer opportunity that will support youth and families while working alongside some terrific neighbors, please send your resume and letter of interest with a description of your relevant skills and knowledge to EHYFS.
